Flashback Friday: 1991 Made Jello Super Exciting!

I have nothing super fantastical to blog about today, and was checking out blogosphere and came across a few blogs doing Flashback Friday brought to you by Web Savy Mom

So, I was all..."Wow! That looks like so much fun. I'm so doing that!" and searched my picture box for something great. I came up with this:This was taken on Easter morning in 1991. That means I was 8. Apparently, I was really excited about Jello. I hate Jello. Why I was excited, I have no idea. However, this was around the time they were really hyping those Jello Wigglers. You know, you make jello on a cookie sheet, and then use cookie cutters to cut it into shapes. Still didn't make me want to eat the crap, I just wanted to play with it. Maybe that's why I was excited. On the back of the picture, my mother had written, "Easter Morning..EARLY!" Early was underlined three times. She did not share my excitement over the Jello I guess. However, 18 years later and a mother of three now myself, I can see where the excitement of waking up at 6AM to see someone become super excited over a box of soon the be gelatinous powder wears off. Even my brother, with his super awesome fro, which I totally forgot he sported back in the day, seems not to share my joy. Whatever homie, your totally missing out.

By the way, do you LOVE the flowered wall paper and the totally 80's dining chair? I really forgot that that townhouse was so fashion forward. I forgot those chairs existed too. But, when it's free, beggars can't be choosers. Besides, the only thing I have a super clear memory of in that place was it had stairs. It was the only place my brother and I ever lived in that had stairs. That made us really excited, and we spent hours pushing each other down the stairs in boxes. Oh yeah...There were lots of bruises. Maybe a few tears. Hours of pretending to be bobsledders and race car drivers. Oh, and I got super awesome blood infection from a rotten fence in the backyard that my dad had been yelling at the landlord about for a month. Mysteriously, after my infection, a trip to the hospital, lots of IV antibiotics and the biggest bottle of liquid antibiotics you have ever seen later, all the fences in the alley of the townhouse complex were redone with brand new wood...Hmmmm....Someone afraid to get sued?
