Today I chose the prompt: Remember Summer? The warm air, blue skies, and endless days in the water? Me either. Share a photo from last Summer that brings you back.
Here goes.
Now, I have to admit, I'm cheating a little here. This picture is not from this past summer. It's from the summer before that. Last summer we were quiet busy looking for a house to move into, so we didn't do as much outdoors and had far less picture opportunities than we usually do. But, it is quite easily, one of my very favorite pictures I have taken over the years.

It was a rather warm July day. Ethan had been begging me to set up his pool so he and Claire could splash and play in the water. Dragging the pool out, filling it up with air, then water was not my favorite thing. And Ethan never really got in. For some reason, the water always came out ice cold and he just wasn't OK with that. Claire, however, liked nothing better than to sit and splash. So, I reluctantly handed the baby (AKA Grayson) over to David, slipped on my flip flops and dragged the pool out of the shed and set it all up. Claire and Ethan dressed in their best swimming attire and I opened the door, where they bounded out into the sunshine and ran circles around the pool.
And that's when the picture happened. They jumped in, but only Claire stayed. Ethan got out, spread his "wings" and soared around the pool, while Claire splashed, oblivious to her brother's antics. I took out my camera, and snapped. Whenever I look at it, I smile. It's so carefree and fun. I find it quite beautiful really, but then again, I took the picture and they are my children. But it also makes me happy. In this picture, they are happy, and that's all I could ever ask for. That they are happy, and loved, and oh, so very, very happy.

And isnt that all children really need? Not X-boxes, not Skylanders, not skateboards or lego or whatever....just to be loved and be happy?
