Hotel Arizona

Sorry I've been gone again, but this time it's totally not my fault!  Swear!  I scheduled posts, but apparently, they won't post of you schedule them for the year 2013!  Who knew?

Anyways, Writer's Workshop.  Today I chose the prompt What was the occasion? Write about the last time you stayed in a hotel.

The last time we stayed in a hotel was in 2005.  Our wedding night.  For about a week before our wedding, we mulled over the pros and cons of staying in a hotel, and then just decided to go for it.

And we splurged.  We spent about $400 on a room for the night.  We received free room service (and we might have gone a little crazy with that), a bottle of wine with a cheese and cracker platter (I still have the bottle) and a late checkout (5PM).  We stayed at the the Four Points Sheraton in Phoenix on Dunlap.  It's now apparently Sheraton Crescent.

After our wedding, we loaded ourselves into our decorated car, drove from Chandler to Phoenix, and walked through the lobby in our wedding gear.  The room was beautiful with a small private balcony overlooking Phoenix.  And I love looking at Phoenix from above at night.  It's like seeing stars on the ground there's so many lights.  The shower was awesome, and after an outdoor wedding in September in Arizona, you kinda need a shower.  So much sweat!!  And, since our checkout was so late, I took a lot of naps.  I mean, I had just planned a wedding in a month and pulled it off.  I don't think I slept at all in those 30 days.

We also spent the day reading our cards from our guests.  We opened the gifts at home later that night.  It was so much fun to lounge around and be alone.  I'm pretty sure this was our first night alone after having Ethan, and we haven't had one alone since.  But, to be quite honest, I missed him terribly and couldn't wait to get home to him.
