The swing I want that Wal-Mart has, has risen from $99 to $112.00. I picked that swing because 1) it's cheap and I don't want to put my mother in a bind buying it, and 2) I'm having major trouble finding a swing that rocks side to side and back and forth. All I've been able to find are the back and forth swings, and both kids HATED back and forth rocking. They both cried until it was changed to side to side. I've also been finding unnecceasry components on these swings. For example, Target is selling this swing to the right...It has a freaking I-Pod dock! Really, who needs that on their baby's swing. I don't. It seems like a complete waste of money to get this swing. I really don't understand it at all.
I've been hearing some wonderful things about this Fisher-Price Soothing Motions Glider, and the reviews I've read are great, but I'm leery of it only because Ethan and Claire both used swings until they were about 6-7 months old, and I'm concerned that this won't have the capacity to hold that weight. Otherwise, I would probably buy this thing in a heartbeat. No one I've met whose used/had one has had a single complaint about it, which makes me curious and optimistic that it's a great product. I wish Babies 'R' Us had free shipping, because that's where it's cheapest, and at the same price as the swing that the price rose up on, it might be worth the buy for my mother. It looks like my quest for the swing continues!
