Yesterday was mine and David's 4 year wedding anniversary. It doesn't feel like we got married that long ago, but we did. He hugged me last night and congratulated me on landing a stud like him. I laughed. I still fondly remember our first date on September 2, 2001 (8 years ago!) like it was yesterday. The movie we saw (Bubble Boy). Where he took me to eat (Wendy's). The crappy car he got washed to impress me (Tempo). The two hours we spent looking for his old friend's house so he could leave a note for him (on his truck). Ahhhhh..Memories. Now, 8 years later, we have 2 (almost 3) children. We've moved from the big city life in Arizona to the small town life in Wisconsin. Lots has happened. I think it's been a hectic/wonderful/happy 8 years. Sure we've had our ups and downs, but doesn't everyone?
I've made a short list of things we need for the baby. We need
- Bottles (for those just in case moments where I can't feed him/her)
- The coming home outfits for a boy and a girl so whatever we do have, they'll be clothed when we leave the hospital
- My breast pump
- This time I really want to get a sling so if the baby is ANYTHING like Claire, I can still get stuff done while baby is in the sling. We have a chest carrier from Claire, but she HATED it. I think a sling would be better.
- And, a swing. My mother is hoping to get one for us.
So, we don't really need much. We'll buy diapers in a couple of weeks, and depending on the gender of the baby, we may or may not need to go out and buy some clothes. All I have is girl clothing, so I'm hoping we have a girl so we can do hand me downs. It would really save us some trouble with shopping and spending a lot of money on new clothes. I mean, I know how to hunt for a bargain, but I'd really like to spend as little as possible if I could. E-Bay really helped me out with Claire, so we'll see if I can find some stuff on there. There seemed to be bigger lots of girls than boys clothes when I was pregnant with her though.
