We rented Where The Wild Things are last night. We let Ethan stay up late to watch it. He was pretty excited. He's loved the book since I first read it to him at 1 1/2. I'm not gonna lie, I was super excited to. I mean..Come on..It's WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE!!! I don't know what I was expecting out of this movie, but it wasn't what I was hoping it would be. I'm a little sad about it. Poor Max. You're story was killed. Upside? The music was pretty good.
Another upside? I got to spend some much needed mommy, daddy and Ethan time with Ethan. He doesn't really get that much anymore. It's not something I can control since he does have two younger siblings and I'm a SAHM. When he leaves for school I'm nursing Grayson or trying to chase Claire down for a diaper change. When he gets home from school I'm nursing Grayson or trying to get Claire to sit still long enough for me to brush the tangles out of her hair from her nap. Spending time with him alone is a rarity. I miss it sometimes.
You know who else needs alone time? Claire. Once Grayson is in bed, she runs to me and wraps her little arms around my legs and tight as she can. She brings her cup and blanket over and snuggles up to me as much as she can. She wraps her little finger in my hair. I love that. I miss being home just us all day. She's still adjusting to not being the baby anymore. It's hard. I could always pick her up whenever she wanted me to, and now I can't because Grayson is usually taking up residence in my arms because he isn't a fan of long periods of bouncy chair time. Though, he has recently taken a liking to the jumperoo. Hopefully his independence increases and I can spend more time with Claire.

I was excited about this movie, but then I heard a lot of bad reviews so I've been waiting to catch it on DVD.
I wish the movie people would realize that the story is a classic for a reason....don't mess with it!
The upside of getting to spend some time with Ethan sounds worth it, though.
