This year David was supposed to watch Claire and Grayson while my MIL and I headed up to the school to have lunch with Ethan, but something came up and David had to run out of the house. This year, I packed a lunch. Things get hectic. It's a tiny school (less than 350 students) but family lunch day gets CRAZY. The line is long and by the time I get through it with my lunch, Ethan is pretty much done with his meal.
This year, I got there early. I headed to Ethan's classroom and picked Ethan up. He went through the line and got his lunch while we waited at the table. Grayson enjoyed a juice box while we waited.
Actually, it was more like his shirt enjoyed a juice box while we waited. Babyganics and I had a date the next day so I could get the big purple stain out. Note to self: Grape juice and a 19 month old DO NOT MIX!!
Claire "fed" the pterodactyl that she insisted on bringing.
Claire has a slight obsession with dinosaurs. She also has a slight obsession with bringing EVERYTHING she owns with her EVERYWHERE we go. The pterodactyl made the cut this time I guess.
After Ethan got his lunch, he came over and joined us at the table. We usually eat outside, but it was actually a bit chilly this day, so lunch was had indoors. Ethan chatted about his day, and tempted fate by eating dessert first.
Then I realized that since I'm not at school monitoring meals, this probably happens more than I'd like it to. Awesome.
All in all, it was a super fun day, as it always is. I enjoy going to school and talking with teachers and other parents. It also makes me feel incredibly lucky that we live in a small town with such a small school because there would be absolutely no way that this could happen at a school in Phoenix. The school's in Phoenix are overcrowded and there would probably just be large amounts of chaos. I can't wait for next year's lunch.

That sounds like a great lunch date! And, i've just realised looking at that last picture, that your son looks a lot like my nephew... weird!
I hope Tyler's school does things like that. I am so excited for him to start kindergarten. It looked like a fun day, did the other kids enjoy visiting their brother?
