When Good Kids Go Bad!

So, it's Saturday. I'm cleaning the house. Claire is on the bed that is waiting for sheets, I'm putting all the old diaper boxes in a pile and Ethan is cleaning my bathroom counter with a sponge that isn't even wet. He's been following me all day, asking what I'm doing. The conversation is as follows::
E "What are you doing?"
Me "Cleaning the house so it's nice for Thanksgiving."
E "Oh, you're making the house handsome?"
Me "Yes, I'm making the house handsome!"
Satisfied with my answer, he continues to scrub the counter with his non wet sponge.

Fast forward 1 1/2 hours. I've finished cleaning my bedroom and making the bed, and am sitting and feeding Claire. Ethan is quietly doing art at the kitchen table. He calls to me, "Mommy, I'm going to be very handsome on Thanksgiving. I'm thinking of a new style. You're going to love it!" I panic. I say, "What?" He says, "I'm giving myself a new style. With Scissors."

THAT'S RIGHT:::SCISSORS!!

I run out to the living room, and he comes out of his bathroom, and I am greeted by a big smile, and this:::

And This:
And a little of this:

Oh yeah..I was not happy, but upon being greeted by this, I didn't know whether to laugh, or be disciplinary, and I tried to do both, and the same time. Really not very effective. It's either laugh or discipline people.

Anyways, Ethan was quite proud of his haircut. I was sad. I ran my fingers through his hair, and big chunks were coming out in my hands. My babies hair!! I asked him what he used to cut his hair with. He said, "Safety scissors!" Now, if you're like me, and thinking safety scissors can't cut hair, you are WRONG! They cut hair. They cut hair REAL nice.

Fast forward to Sunday afternoon, we are at Great Clips. He gets his head shaved. He is now bald. Lesson learned:: Do not let him do art without supervision. Even with safety scissors!
